Which denomination bank note did the Bank of England introduce in 1752 and withdraw in 1945?

Thanks, I have two different answers for this and need confirmation.

Tricky-- due to german forgeries all notes over �5 were withdrawn in 1945, as you will know the �10 & �5 notes were intro in 1759 &1793 , this leaves �20, were the �50 around then, i dont think so

I think that �50 note was issued then, but I am not aware of its withdrawal in 1945.

Julie due to the withdrawal in 45 it looks like either the 20 or 50 as ktk says it was in circ, cant find much about 1752

sorry to make it three choices but I am sure I have read that the Bank of England introduced a few One thousand pound notes which were withdrawn a long time after - will try and check but would be pretty confident.

Jane could be right. The �1k note ceased in 1945, but with this one I can't find out when it was first issued! Hope this helps a bit!!

the 1k note was never put into circ, it was only used internally

the following notes were introduced in 1833 and were withdrawn from use in 1945 : �10, �20, �50, �100, �500 and �1000. Before 1833 notes were issued but they were only promisary notes used in financial trading
