Comedienne wise, I find Victoria Wood funny, but that's about it. But then I don't find many comedians very funny. I must have a bad sense of humour. Basically, I don't like stand up comedians of either sex. Prefer situation comedy - where men and women can both shine or comedians like the late Dave Allen. No 'jokes' please. I hate them.
I think Miranda is funny as a person, but not as a comedian or in her show. I don't mean that rudely. She would make a great friend and have me in stiches.
sammy i am not sure they do. I loved dad's army, and so did the o/h, tommy cooper, and the two ronnies, add in Eddie Izzard who is so far removed from that type of comedy, but he is amazing.
The reason many men think women don't have such a good sense of humour as themselves :
When a man mocks a woman, and she doesn't laugh, he laughs himself and finds his own "humour" hilarious. The woman doesn't join in the laughter against herself, so he says she can't see the joke. It's not a joke, but a put-down by a man who feels the need to boost his ego at a woman's expense.
So, any diffident men out there . . . ?
Women must have; my partner finds almost everything I do is funny but I don't see what's funny about it at all. For example, I fail to see what's funny about falling in to a frozen pond or turning up at a hotel in Geneva only to find I've arrived on the right date but a year early. Those are just annoying.
I agree with Fredpuli and Jno. I laugh almost daily at the escapades of Mr BM (I suspect that if I didn't laugh I would cry). He doesn't find them funny. No sense of humour at all.
I have to say, on here I find equal numbers of men and women hilarious. There are a couple, whom I shan't name, but have me laughing out loud.
