Who here couldn't have predicted this outcome?

Feel sorry for the lady but a teeny tiny part of me thinks that she was incredibly daft to think this was anything other than a loathsome toad out for all he could milk from her.

i am sure there are as many daft men as there are daft women, hankering after their lost youth, who date much younger women, then get totally fleeced of their money. those conning, conniving individuals should be set in the stocks and pelted with rotten fruit. But it's a salutary lesson, which so few heed, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.
A bet there are a lot of men reading it thinking "Where can I find one of these women?"
A typical story of the 'cougar' and the 'cub'.

I've dated much younger women thanks, never been fleeced yet- not everyone is an evil gold digger. My mother in law is in her 70's and her husband of some years now in his 30's. Nice, happy, stable relationship.
In this instance I think it's a pity that her whole life went down the way it did, but people are human and stupid, and yearn for their own individual fairy tales. When those don't happen, some of us cope better than others and some turn to drink, gambling, drugs, casual sex, shopping- whatever addiction helps them cope. This helps them temporarily but not those around them and problems escalate not diminish. This is what happened with her family.
You would hope that now her life is more stable and on track they would all try to reconcile but the children seem to think her house was their inheritance ' by right' which it isn't, it's hers to do with as she sees fit. I personally think she's a bit soft in the head, but she's not evil and her kids need to stop viewing her as such and having such a sense of entitlement.
I don't think the house was hers to give, morally, her ex- husband should have arranged to have the house divided between the three of them as 'tenants in common' then she would not have been able to sell it without their permission, her daughter was entitled to inherit what her father had put in.
should have but didn't. So the house was hers. But note that she says her plan was that her daughters would get even more money back from the proceeds of the bar. She was duped but she wasn't trying to rob anyone. She's no more wicked than any other gambler.
She's not the first - and she won't be the last.....
She's not been an ideal mother to her kids, and is no oil painting. The young Turk must have had his work cut out to convince her that she was so special. Foolish woman. She's not the first to be fooled by foreign holiday romances, don't suppose she'll be the last.

Her daughter seem to think she didn't own a house and may be making up the whole story.
She looks older than 50
I guess that's what years of heavy drinking and drug taking does to you mazie, I know that long term amphetamine use will make your teeth fall out and she appears to be wearing dentures.
That must account for it then daffy. I would have put her nearer 70.
