I grilled bacon until crisp and crumbled it up, fried onions, grated some mature cheddar cheese, and then I made a kind of ratatoille with courgettes, aubergines, mushrooms, onions, celery and red and yellow peppers that needed using up. I also put out two shop bought packs of chicken tikka and some butter. Not all mixed together mind, but my two lads and their dad hve just demolished three each. They've been clearing snow and helping neighbours push cars up the road all day.

would you believe they've just asked me what's for pud?!! I made a cherry pie or there's half a chocolate cake left - they had the first half with mugs of tea this affternoon.

I love lashings of butter, black pepper, a little salt, and a bucket of philly cheese in mine, perhaps some chopped chives.

I had some for yesterdays lunch with leftover curry, and today I'm having cheese, onion ,chives and mayonnaise with my jacket.

I do love a jacket potato but have to have LOADS of butter on them.
