Ebay International Postage Query..!
18 Answers
As a rule I never post out of the UK when selling on eBay, and I always state that in the auction listing. But at the moment I have a number of items in an auction that seem to attracting attention from Sweden. Someone has asked if I would accept euros sent through the post, and what would the price be to post a package to Sweden, he will accept no insurance.
The euros in cash are not a problem, obviously at his risk....what is the most reliable postage system. Parcel will be under 1 kg.

Just log on to the Royal Mail web site and then click on the option 'price finder' and away you go. Just remember to weigh the item accurately and allow for the weight of packing. I have slipped up by just guessing the weight and had a shock when I got to the post office. You can not send an item that is more than 2Kg outside the UK by Royal Mail, that is where ParcelForce...

I sell internationally a lot from here in the U.S.
Frankly, there's alot of downside to accepting cash through the mail (as we call it here)... for example, he's the high bidder and supposedly send the cash and then alleges non-delivery of his item. It soon becomes a he-said-she-daid propostion and it's left to Ebay to sort it out and you wouldn't be in a very good position... how do you prove a negative as in "I never received the payment".
Secondly, f you've completed the ad and have then selected "No International Sales" you shouldn't be receiving bids and offers from international countries. I select no sales to certain restricted countries all th etime and have never received a bid or inquiry from those countries.
Last item I sold to a buyer in Sweden cost $14.00 to ship via our expedited shipping method... still takes about 7 to 10 days. (Not much help in your situation, I know). Thing is, if you advertise the mode of shipping then the completion of the shipping labelsis greatly simplified including the Declaration of Contents and your signature attesting to the fact that the item(s) are not restricted.....

I sell outside the UK all the time, and it's no trouble - but I do insist that outside UK buyers pay by PayPal. Use this chart to calculate likely postage http:// www.the answerb ank.co. uk/Phra ses-and -Saying s/Jokes /Questi on12066 86.html

Over 80% of my ebay items sell outside the UK. It is no harder than selling to UK only. Ebay has a post price finder just use that. Royal mail is best for items up to 2 Kg but insist on signed for or airsure postage so that there is proof of delivery. I would not accept cash as the paypal guarantee is not valid, this protects the buyer and the seller but obviously you have to use paypal to get it. Airsure and International signed for both have insurance as standard included in the post cost, but airsure has full tracking where I S F has only a proof of delivery.
alavahalf The Royal Mail pay the insurance if the parcel goes astray or is damaged you get a claim form from the post office. If you use Airsure then the parcel is tracked all the way and you can find out where it is by entering the tracking code on the Royal Mail web site. You definately get more money by selling abroad on ebay and it is no harder than selling to UK only, just be sure you check the weight and price and put it on the listing , plus include the cost of packing materials and getting to the post office.
I wish I could see what you are looking at ... this is what I see
