Christmas tree lights - LED v Traditional

Are LED christmas lights brighter than the traditional ones with the little removable bulbs? Do the bulbs pack up as frequently as the traditional ones seem to? I`ve put the lights on the tree and they seem a bit dull. One of the bulbs has packed up as well and I used all the spares in previous years. I might just take them off and bin them and buy LEDs before I get any further but if they`re as unreliable as the traditional lights I might leave them for this year.

One of the reasons that LEDs are so reliable and longlasting is that they produce almost no heat.
I've no experience of LED tree lights, but I'd certainly try them :o)

Thanks TheBuilder. I`ve looked on the internet and some of them have micro-bulbs. I`m a bit confused now. Maybe I just need some with more lights. I`m off to the garden centre to see what they`ve got.
LEDs are guaranteed to be better.
