Money no object when it comes to others, but in these austere times where do we get these endless amounts of money from?

You've guessed it, by robbing our own people of their rightful dues.

The Forces Pension Society received forty complaints and fifteen have appealed. Rather than payments being cut, is it not a case of the MOD giving incorrect advice?
Not surprising is it.

there must be thousands of infinitely more deserving causes in this country, our own people.

but as usual give it away overseas, nothing changes

No there have been huge cuts in Army pensions, as well as the cessation of the 'London Allowance' for all ranks above sergeant who are forced to live in the capital, because of their posting.

Most if not all persons working in London are given a 'London Allowance' even the politicians, but that comes as no surprise.
I'm sure our "heroes" will find ways to supliment their incomes

The word cuts is misleading, AOG- the payoffs have been calculated correctly. It seems the website calculator wasn't correct and did contain a 'health warning', but if the MOD itself confirmed the figures in writing and didn't correct them, and the soldiers relied on the information, then the soldiers may have a case in law. However I wonder whether the full facts are known here- maybe the correct amounts were given at some stage before the redunancies were finalised
anotheoldgit, the headline you gave to the question suggests many have had a cut of 75% but is that the case? The examples given in the article seem to be cases where the MOD has given figures based either on a misreading of the facts or human error. Do you have a link to the reduction in Army pensions?
What does annoy me are the quoted figures that other countries donated.
AOG don't you realise Cameron is trying to build a world wide reputation for intervening against the world's dictators and fighting on behalf of the poor in those countries. Unfortunatly many of these Syrian refugees are ex-miliitants who fought against the Assad machine. Many of them went to Jordan who are now looking for receptor countries to share some of the workload. Like the Asian refugees under Amin talks are under way to accept many of the Syrian refugees here.
