Why can't I copy and paste a selection of cells in Excel into a thunderbird email composition so that it looks the same as the worksheet I took it from. it won't paste the colours from the sheet or the cell borders..help

e-mail programs can usually be set up to send or receive e-mails in PLAIN TEXT or HTML format.


My guess is that you have the default set as plain text.


See if you have an option to change it to HTML.

thanks vehelpfulguy but already thought of that and it has no effect
It's probably because Microsloth don't like Mozilla! It wouldn't be the 1st time they've been responsible for "bugs" which stop Microsoft products working with "non" microsoft products. Or simply that the 2 programmes aren't compatible.

An alternative is to grab the screen with ALT+PrtSc and crop it to the right size in Photoshop (or similar) and then paste it into your email. It's not an ideal solution but it should at least look the same!
