But it is a sensible thing to do - she would drive you totally nuts if she was regularly going into season and it cuts out the risk of womb infections.
It is a bigger operation than for boy cats but she should be okay.

She'll be fine gordie. We had to have our tom cat neutered when he was about a year old, he was a bit wild with strangers. He also had a small hernia on his tummy. The vet neutered him and also saw to his hernia, he looked awful at first, stitches all the way up his tummy. We were advised not to let him out for a few days which was a bit difficult, he was an outdoor cat. After a couple of weeks he was back to normal, and he settled down and became tamer.

Excellent news, and well done on taking the steps to get her spayed. My two girls both bounced back with in hours of coming home from there operations, I was the one that was in a state getting myself all stressed out over it. They hardly even gave me a backward glance and just got on with there ways as if nothing was any different..... weird creatures but impossible to not love them........
