Samsung Galaxy S And 3G

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S. It used to have a little symbol at the top which I think was 3g. Sometimes it showed a G and sometimes it showed an H and sometimes it showed little up/down arrows.

Now that has disappeared and i can no longer get the internet on my phone. Can anyone help, please. I haven't changed providers or anything.

Possibly you have mobile data switched off, switch it back on either on the pull down notifications page or in settings

It relates to the speed your data is being down loaded.

In davethedog link there is no mention of "R" which on my phone at the moment anybody know what that means?

On mine the R stands for roaming even though I am not, something to do with the provider using another network, but don't quote me!!
