Is there anyone who can clarify a matter for me please?

I have the old style provisional driver's licence. For some reason or another, I have only got around to taking my lessons. I moved from the address on the paper licence 4 years ago - will I need to get a new licence?

I have spoken to my instructor and I have e mailed the DVLA for clarification. As at the moment, I have not heard anything back from the DVLA.

Does anyone know the answer to this please?

Many thanks.

I am sure that the rules governing normal licences apply to provisional. They must show the current details of the person on them, that means upto date address.

Thanks for this.

One thing though - I work for a bank and we can take a driver's licence for proof of identification - even if the address is an old one.

However, the legislations for the DVLA may be different. Thanks for your advice!

I will get it changed asap, thanks a lot. I do not want to get a 1000 fine on my door step!

Cheers folks!
