Linking My Computer To Tv ? Cables!!!
Wanting to link computer to tv.
I think my computer has an VGA output but how do I find out if correct?
Is it better to link from VGA on computer to VGA on tv? Or from VGA on computer to hdmi on tv.

Take a look! A VGA socket looks like this:

Be careful not to confuse it with a serial port or game port:

You need to note that VGA sockets only export video, not audio. So you'll need to connect the sound from the speaker output.
So you'll need one of these to do the conversion:

plus a VGA-to-VGA lead for the video input, a 3.5mm-jack-to-twin-phonoplugs lead for the audio input and an HDMI lead for the output.

Your computer may also have a SVHS socket - you could use that.
I have just recently bought a VGA to Video converter for use with my iPad4 (unlike the iPad1, 4 doesn't output video - it does HDMI, but my video/tv doesn't!). I paid £10 - £15 for the converter.
There are also cables vga to phono (but they didn't work with the ipad!)
