Does anybody know the name of the ITV sitcom where he played somebody who became Lord of Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island)? From memory I think it would have been mid to late 1980s. I know it definitely isn't Never The Twain!

Lodekka, I hate you! I've just spent 45 mins trawling the internet for the answer...Why? I couldn't care less about Windsor "Shaaaaadddddduuuuppp!" Davies. The Things Answerbank does to sane people.
I've drawn a blank, but I do vaguely remember it.
I've searched all of http://www.memorabletv.com/britishsitcomsguide.htm and can find no trace of the aforesaid comedy. Maybe it didn't exist?

Love you too Headtime :-p - believe me, I wouldn't have posted this one if I'd been able to find it elsewhere! It definitely existed - one of those that ITV used to put on at 8.30 on a Tuesday or Wednesday. For some reason, Windsor always used to chunter on about being marooned in Long Crendon (Aylesbury/Thame area) and waiting for the day that he could throw it all in and assume his 'title'.
Like Headtime, I spent ages looking for this one... Here it is...

Sitcom. George Vance, a Welshman running a museum in England, inherits an Earldom and finds himself taking a seat in the house of Lords. The two lead characters were played by Colin Blakely and Gwen Taylor in the pilot but Windsor Davies finally took on the role in the Series.
