Where would you go for travel insurance?
have been away many times but never had any yet.
The older you are i realise you are more at risk of being ill while having a 4 week holiday in Aussie. Cheers Abers x
Yes, you need to read the small print. I had been with the same company for years and it was only when I was looking around for somewhere else that I saw it only covered me for £1000 cancellation/curtailment which is a piddling amount. Insure and Go is £3000.
I get ours through our Home/Buildings/Contents and Car Insurance company ....... an annual worldwide one so you can travel multiple times in any one year, as I do with my work.
Nope not really pusskin....just helps if at relatives, as if delayed for any reason there due to maybe illness or weather etc, you dont have to sort out accommadation as a result....just flights back.....also you'll be covered for luggage, delays, cancellations etc and hopefully, medical costs....ask the company you are with to clarify exactly WHAT you are covered for and what the excesses are......
pusskin, I get mine free through my bank. In the paper the other day they reported that a lot of people don't even realise they have these benefits, and some never use them. Check with your bank!
boxtops - I don't trust the ones you get with your bank accounts anymore. We went to Florida with my friend and her family and her youngest son got an ear infection. It involved a trip to a Doctor in the local hospital, but they would not accept Dads insurance when we got there, even though he had rung his bank before his got there. He had to pay with his credit card (about $600), then another $100 for the prescription at the drug store. And then when he got home he got another bill of £400 from the actual Doctor. Ok, so his bank reimbursed him, but if he hadn't had that much spare on a credit card he would have been in lumber.
Mr Spudqueen banks at the same bank, and ever since that trip (5 years ago) I have always taken out my own travel insurance (Post Office).
Sorry for delay getting back to you.
I think I'll go with bank or post office for insurance? Will decide.
I am a retired cocoa slurper (lol) Wont be doing any sports, only swimming.
Cheers abers x
I'm very pleased with the prices. They're really affordable for longer trips where you have to pay different prices for different number of days. With them it's 1 Euro/day so not that expensive.
