really really scared never had a tooth out since i was a kid and they knocked me out for that.... does it hurt?.. can you feel it at all?
Daughter had to have 4 teeth out pre braces.. they just injected her and pulled them out... she was fine.. I was a bit squeamish re the noise.... so NO.. it won't hurt.. might ache a bit after and take a few days to heal up.. good luck honey xxx
i am such a baby when it comes to the dentist as ive had a few bad experiences in the past and dont really trust dentists,, and its the unknown.... fillings dont bother me but the thought of having a tooth pulled scares the life out of me
No, it doesn't hurt - aches afterwards, but the extraction itself won't hurt. Local anaesthetic is really good these days (and this is me who doesn't like the dentist either)
I used to be the world biggest coward about visiting the dentist but have found a very good one who gives me absolute confidence that he will not hurt me! I've had a few teeth out last year, and the worst bit is your mouth gradually return to normal after the local anaesthetic is wearing off. The only thing that I have felt is a fair amount of pressure on your mouth as he's pulling the tooth out - but he's never hurt me.
Best of luck with your appointment.
It doesn't hurt when they're pulling it out.
It can ache a bit afterwards when the anaesthetic wears off. The trick is to take some paracetamol or ibuprofen before it wears off, then take painkillers regularly afterwards for about a day until the pain has gone.
Getting a molar out can be noisy, though....they're so near your ear.
It will be fine. Good luck.
It's not that bad Honey, I've had a few out under local anaesthetic.
No you can't really feel it - not in the painful sense anyway, just a bit of light tugging.
If you are very apprehensive, you could ask your dentist to consider prescribing you some oral sedation such as 10mg Temazepam to take before the procedure.
