My knowledge about cars is very rusty, so this may be nonesense, but if the problem is the same I had with my Skoda Octavia, it was a faulty but inexpensive relay behind the dashboard, so expensive to replace.


The Octavia has a translucent section in the fuel line in which lengthy air bubbles could be seen.

Sounds like it needs to be bled through - easy on a home heating system, not so easy in a car

Sorry, should have said you shouldn't let a diesel run out of fuel as this happens when you do
