Electric Meter - Query Red Light!
2 Answers
Hi
Along with 30 others in our apartment block I have a Landis Elect. Meter. It has two places for lights - IMP and KW/H
When I checked it today there was a red light flashing under KW/H. None of the other meters were flashing - although it was early in the morning and my wife had her washing machine and iron on. Would this be the reason ie we were using a lot of power?
The readings are ok as are the bills.
I also noticed that one other flat had a steady red light showing.
Can anyone explain.
Thanks

Switch on an electric kettle, and watch the light flash. If the light comes on at the start of a flash, and all house power is then switched off, it's possible that the flash doesn't complete its cycle, and remains steadily lit. That may be what you've seen in the other flat.
