An Update On Owd
43 Answers
Hi to all and first thing is that Owd and Mrs Owd were most appreciative of all the messages.
Owd has had a bit of a rough time of late and you may have noticed that he hasn't posted - none of those lovely, terse, sardonic remarks!
In short, he was taken back into hospital just before the weekend, as he wasn't holding down food or medication and, if you remember, they want some more strength in him to tackle this tumour, so they need him built up, taking food, hydrated and on top of his throat - that turned out to be a fungal issue and his medicine was to tackle that as well.
So I am pleased to say that overnight Mrs Owd was back in contact to say that things have slowly improved and that after a rough start, the fungal medicine has kicked in and he is now "grazing" every thirty minutes or so; liquid cool bags are used and this corner in his long road is being turned.
Mrs Owd is threatening all sorts of goodies and Oldham may well be the place to head to for a good AB pig-out in the days to come when Owd emerges from hospital (I have remarked to them "less haste, more speed" to that as we don't want any regression on this front!).
He is in on the pc and can see the comments we make, Mrs Owd is going to encourage him to take to the keyboard today....so even though his message may be short, he is slowly improving.
He's not there yet but, hopefully, and with all our thoughts, he'll soon be home and ready to build up his strength with Mrs Owd's food and care, ready to jump the next high hurdle on this difficult steeplechase.
We're all thinking of you both, Owd and Mrs Owd, DTC.
