Agree fried .....
but think about it fgt, there is a lots of fuss about foxes at the mo, surely its safer - for the fox just to keep it out the way, even if its just till the fuss dies down.

what if a drunk eejit comes in and tries to wind the fox up just to prove the landlords statement that he's tame, the fox bites him, fox gets taken away and put down -

i would love to go to that pub and see the fox but i think he should be kept away from the general patrons

The only truly vicious animals in the world are humans and chimps - they kill because they want to.

What about lions and other animals that practice infanticide?
I feel sorry for this pet fox, kept not far away from me.

I know what you mean lb, but it's known no other life and is obviously well loved. It looks happy.

It does look happy when they are making a video showing how happy it is chaps! But they run a pet shop business that is open 7 days a week so it spends a long time in that flat on its own. You're right, nothing can be done now, but he shouldn't have kept it, it should have gone to a wildlife rescue. It has never seen another fox says it all for me:-(

i would rather have a tame fox running round my feet when im having a pint that one of the dozens of pit-bull "pets that frequent the pubs in some areas
I bet the brewery had a big part in this decision.

Thanks for knocking 2 years off my age.

I agree with you about lions - and it is a horrible thought - but it is fight of the fittest out there. Lions need to ensure that their genes are being spread.

I don't think that it is right to take a wild animal and make it a pet on purpose. But fox hysteria has arrived and even the most friendly of foxes are seen as t serious threat.

When any animal is scared or hurt its instincts take over (this includes us). Last year I took my lady cat to the vet and she freaked out and was , what the vet called, hysterical with anger. She was an all-biting and all- scratching wild animal. I was impressed - a little.
Would I get away with shooting a fox in a pub?
shoota (@14:24) good link, I grew up in a rural area, part of the family income came from Poultry breeding and the foxes were a real pest, I believe they are classed as vermin and in my book should be treated as such. I've seen a few people, over the years try and raise a cub as a pet, I've never seen one get much past 2 years without reverting to type and causing problems. I agree they look cute, but only if you don't have to deal with the carnage they can create.
Thanks Baldric.
I think in this day of all-providing supermarkets people have lost touch completely with the realities of feeding themselves and their families. Tod is a cute little thing and quite possibly a perfect pet.
But I'll put money on the fact that if you didn't feed him for three days he'd have the head off your chicken in an instant.
And human beings are SO perfect aren't they??? Never hurt their fellow man, never destroy the planet, never hurt children or are cruel to pets, are never selfish and the list goes on and on and YET we expect wild animals to behave in a manner that we think they should, not as nature intended. Do we want all the world to ourselves with no thought for the other species that share it ???? I know I don't !!! Give me a wild animal any day than a human with a gun, especially one who shoots for FUN !!! People who shoot for fun are utter morons. And all you people who think my views are over the top, as ever, I DON'T CARE !!!!!
