Although the volume on my laptop is turned all the way up, and the different sounds are checked to its max, the volume is still low. Is is possible to manipulate something in the volume/sound control area, or even install something which would help with the volume improvement?

Thanks for looking at my question.

You could try checking this out, it or may not help! I hope we get a helpful answer, Tilly.
Not much luck so far, society. We need to be patient and wait until the right person comes along.
I'm in the queue here too...incidentally, mine's an Acer - what's yours, Society?

Just a thought - where are the speaker grilles?

If they are underneath the laptop & it is on something soft (eg a lap), then the sound tends to get muffled.

I remember the volume was louder when I first got it. It appears to have decreased with age. :(

My speakers are at the sides, I think. Not sure though. I often clean the whole laptop with the dust remover spray thingie. So hopefully speakers are dust-free.
I will more than likely be corrected, I would think that the speakers are sufficient for the laptop, if too much volume, the speakers would blow.
love my acer laptop but the volume at full blast is very quiet
oh mine was like that too for a while, most annoying, and for some unknown reason it's gone loud again,do you turn up the little speaker volume control when watching you tube videos?

'Windows Start>Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Manage Audio Devices'

- You should then see a Window displaying the Audio Devices installed on your system . Highlight the name of the current active Audio devices something like 'Speaker / Headphones' but may be referenced different depending the type of speaker system / drivers installed.

- Select 'Properties' which will display some additional options such as 'Level, Custom, Enhancements, Advnaced' for the various Audio functions available on your system. Try 'playing around' with some of those settings to see if it makes a difference.

- If that does not work you could try checking on your Computer manufacturers support website to see if there are any more recent Sound drivers available for system and if so, download and install to check if it offers increased sound performance.
