Apple Imac Mountain Lion

Following problems with java and Apple stopping it working on my computer, I upgraded to Mountain Lion so that I could play bridge on an online website that I use.

My imac does not like this update, the page continually goes off to another page without any reason. I am having problems on the bridge website in that some of the set up screens to play with other players will not clear, and generally I am fed up with it.

My question is how would I go back to Snow Leopard, as at the moment I cannot play on the bridge website without continual problems.

Not sure if this will work for you, but you could try this and if you have a Time-Machine backup, which is usually the case you should be able to restore it:

Command-R to the rescue.

Just hold down Command-R during startup and OS X Recovery springs into action. It lets you choose from common utilities: You can run Disk Utility to check or repair your hard drive, erase your hard drive and reinstall a fresh copy of OS X, or restore your Mac from a Time Machine backup. You can even use Safari to get help from Apple Support online. And if OS X Recovery encounters problems, it will automatically connect to Apple over the Internet.

I do not have time-machine backup, so probably will not be able to sort it out this way.

I did upgrade Java and is working normally now. Java was the problem in the first place which is why I upgraded to Mountain Lion.

I have since heard from someone else that uses the bridge website I use that they have had the same problem with their imac and mountain lion and they have had to go out and buy a windows laptop with windows 7 on it, because windows 8 does not support Java.

Really loathe to buy a new laptop when perfectly happy with my iMac. Seems to be that it an apple problem with this particular website. I have sent an email to the people who run this website to see if they have any answers, not hopeful.

As far as I am concerned, Mountain Lion compared to Snow Leopard is useless, so unstable, wish I had never installed it, but Apple would not support the old Java version and blocked it on my iMac.
