Looks fine outside now, no meteorites descending or anything. Must fit a new board to the gate today, to stop the terrier escaping. She squeezed under it yesterday and reappeared a mile away , confidently trotting down the main Cambridge road in the rush hour, using the white line in the middle of it as her personal footpath. A villager looked out of her office window and was astonished to see this little dog causing lorries and cars to slow to avoid her, quite oblivious to any danger and disdaining the grass verge as though that was only the option for wimps. It took four people to catch her; they succeeded because the bitch saw a car stopped at a junction and went up to it to say "Hello" to the driver, getting up on her hind legs to do so. Mental. Dandie Dinmonts are said to be "not frightened of anything in fur". That's plainly an understatement!
Otherwise have three new shrubs to bury, and a check on the dog insurance to make!
Have a good, and unstressful day, all !

Terriers, in general, are great wanderers. The last Dandie would not only go off far beyond the farm, to be retrieved miles away, but he used to persuade the rest of the dogs to go with him ! They never wandered before he arrived. It is quite amazing how far such a small dog, with such stubby little legs, can go,too ( and at quite a trot) .
High- vis, is an idea. How about putting "Highway Maintenance" on it? The mere sight of that slows me down
