Recliner Chair For Bad Back
3 Answers
I have a chronic back condition. I have seen the Ekornes Stressless recliners which seem comfortable, but are quite expensive. Has anyone got one of these recliners and found it useful, especially those with bad backs? Alternatively, has anyone any other suggestions as to other recliners which may help?

I have had back problems for years (including two ops) but have an "ordinary" recliner which has a firm, well-shaped back. Some people equate a soft chair with comfort, but (for problem backs) it's usually firmness you require.
You can make an unsuitably soft backrest better with the use of firm, well-placed cushions or the use of something like The Backfriend.
I wouldn't spend a fortune on "special" chairs.

I have just an ordinary fairly large reclining chair, which in an ideal world would be a bit narrower around the back, and when I sit in that I have a rolled up pillow in the lumbar region and a fairly firm cushion on the seat, which seems to work quite well for me -- and I put them in the car when travelling as well. The Ekormes look lovely, but they are expensive, aren't they.
