...I just went to my local M&S and was looking at mens knitwear (Blue Harbour) all sweaters and cardigans boldly advertised as 100% cotton.
In the summer when its hot, the way to keep cool is to wear cotton and sleep under cotton sheets. So heres what I don't get...
Why make an item of clothing which is designed to keep you warm ie.a sweater out of the very material thats designed to keep you cool.
btw.To be warm wear Merino wool..brilliant..

Cotton does not keep you cool. It gets hot and sweaty. Merino wool keeps me warm in winter and cool in summer. AND not at all smelly!
I guess it is a layer of clothing so will go some way to keeping you warm-ish
Cotton does not, per se, keep you cool- but it is more comfortable next to the skin.
Pullovers are not,per se, to keep you warm. Ever heard of "fashion"?
Sorry to disagree but there is nothing as nice next to your skin as Merino wool. Babies vests used to be all wool.
Wool makes my skin itch.
and mine. I don't wear wool.
I can't wear wool on my skin...love cotton sweaters.
I used to wear it all the time...can't anymore. It's torture.
I find cotton sweaters and cardigans to have no warmth at all, so hardly worth putting on. Much prefer cotton as a means of keeping cool.
