Refusing To Recognise Wireless Mouse

I have been having quite a few problems with my lappy and have had a system rebuild ( don't ask because I don't know).
I'm running Windows 7, but the lappy is now refusing to recognise the Logitech wireless mouse, though it did before.
I have changed the mouse battery to no avail and the USB thingy is in place.
Lappy recognises a little wired mini-mouse though.
Has anyone any suggestions, or should I just buy a new mouse?
Thanks

Put the USB thingy in place, leave in and reboot the laptop, it may pick it up and install the drivers that way. If that doesn't work go to the website of the mouse manufacturer and see if they have an install package for the drivers.

You have pressed the buttons on both mouse and transmitter so they search for each other ?

Failiing all that, worst comes to worst you can always use a different mouse to reach the device manager window, where you can delete the mouse data, replug it in, and let the computer find it anew.
