About once a month, we have a couple of nice fish and chip restaurants around our town, and I'm always looking for an excuse to eat out, Indian or Chinese food I don't mind which.
I love the soggy, fat-filled batter. Unfortunately.
We don't eat out in the Winter as we like places that have an outside play area (for the kids, not us). Our local favourite/cheapest place with the best play area is having a massive make-over so I am looking forward to when it re-opens and the weather picks up (the food is nothing special, but good value for us lot with loads of choice). I don't like fish and chips but everyone else does, can't stand the smell when ou walk past and the fat seems to hang in the air (not their fault, just does).
Well, that will thrill the chef at The George MrsC......"And one soggy, fat filled batter for the winking lady!"
luv weekly f&c, takeway boona x 2pw
Fish and chips remind me of when I was a child. An honorary aunt used to take me to the early evening cinema performance every Friday and then treat me to fish and chips which we ate on our way home.
Very rarely eat out at night unless its a special occasion. Prefer to eat out at lunch time. I organise a lunch club for the U3A, we eat at a different pub in the Forest of Dean once a month, very enjoyable. We also go out to lunch with friends about once a month. Very rarely buy fish and chips, I prefer to do my own. Chips are low calorie, cooked in the Actifry and I don't like battered fish I prefer breadcrumbed (which I buy frozen). If I have a takeaway I have a chicken shish kebab and OH has Indian.
I do make my own fish and chips. I use tilapia in a beer and egg white batter and serve with herby potatoes. Mr BM lurves me when I do that.
We eat out about once a month or so.Old fogies special at the pub in town when we go shopping .
I love fish and chips and we do have them now and again from the local chippy .
We live on the coast where the fish is lovely and fresh and the chips are fried in beef dripping !
Have fish and chips about once a year, eat out very occasionally, but we have a Chinese takeaway every Monday. It's only one main dish between 2 of us so it's a smallish portion and cheap and it saves me having to cook on the first work day of the week (plus, my daughter who doesn't like Chinese food has dinner at her dad's that night)
