Our landlord came to clean our gas fire out (two days ago) ahead of the gas safety check which is due soon, it now has the middle left radiant turning black after we had to light the fire this morning. Should I be worried at all?

Anyone.....?

I really would like to know if the fire is safe to use still.

Can this post even be seen? :-/
Yes it can be seen! Sorry, I have no idea whether it is safe to use or not, but I am curious to know what there was that needed cleaning out in a gas fire. I don't think I've ever cleaned a gas fire out.
Have never heard of cleaning out a gas fire daffy.
Hope you get some good responses soon.

Phew, I was beginning to think I was invisible. lol

Our landlord is an ex gas fitter (no longer registered gas safe) so I think he knows what he's doing when he cleans out the fire, he just tends to hoover the dust from inside and the soot that has fallen down the chimney behind it. He does it every year before the safety check is done and we've not had a problem before, this time though the ceramic radiant seems to have burned black which is slightly worrying.

Hopefully someone will have an answer for me or I'll have to call the landlord out and I hate having to do that :-/
