Things to do in London

I'm going to be in London at the end of the month for a few days. Can anyone recomend the sites that I should go and see? Remember I'm a tourist, I want to do all the silly touristy things as well that all you locals will laugh at me for doing.

The first thing I did on arrival in London was to buy a A to Z which included all the attractions (�2.50)

Why not see the best suburbs- Blackheath village, Greenwich and the observatory, Golders Green, Hampstead, Richmond- lots of parks, tea shops, other upmarket shopping, and if you can be bothered and like department stores, Brent Cross

The London Dungeon is quite spooky, but I wouldn't take really young children. The 606 Club and Ronnie Scotts are good for live, late night bands and pretty good grub - (depending on your taste in music & food). Covent Garden has some great places to shop and wander. You can sample menus from virtually anyway in the world in London. If you get a free map of the underground (from most stations) and buy a Time Out magazine on a Thursday, you should find out lots of fun things to do. P.S. I am glad the Dome is no longer, 'coz it was a complete waste of money...

isnt there a London Underground saver ticket that allows you to make as many trips as you like on the underground? someone else will have to fill in details - im not from London

Go to the Sway Bar in Holborn, its really good!! beautiful place, great atmosphere.

The National Portrait Gallery (on the North side of Trafalgar Square) is a must if you're at all interested in art.
