Was the daughter's response when I started to tell her about Answerbank.
Well let me tell you about a real and beautiful person, one of many I have met here.
When Owd was having a very bad spell I started doing silly, cheery posts for him. DT. made contact with Owd and somehow a few of us started an email friendship.
Owd was a brilliant wood turner...a true and passionate craftsman. During a better spell he returned to his shed and, as a thank you for the friendship and making him smile, he made us some beautiful bowls. How kind and thoughtful was that?
Once, when I asked how he was, he said he was more concerned about how tired his lovely wife was becoming. He was so proud of her and loved her so much.
So....even more than a real person.....he was a star. I'll miss Owd.
And to the daughter......Worry not.......Answerbank has a wonderful side to it and it was truly present last night.

He was special Katbird......very kind and thoughtful. x
Thank you for sharing your story gness, I've thought of Owd today and especially this evening when I did my best to cheer his football team on in the FA cup match.

We will miss his cheery posts and his clever wit, but most of all his friendship.
