Unwanted Link To Hotmail

I bought a new laptop last week and during the set up it wanted a Hotmail address which I foolishly entered, having had an unused account for years. Now it demands this address as a log in and Skype now wants me to log in through Hotmail How do I get rid of this please?

Note that logging on to Windows 8 with an email address gives you a Windows account and there are certain things you can only do with Windows 8 when logged on to this Windows account.

So for example you cant download apps if not logged on to this Windows account.

So if you follow the instructions above to switch to a "local account" you will lose some function in Windows 8.

Windows 8 need an account to run.So if you used your hotmail id then its fine but yes you are facing trouble accessing skype but you can change your user on skype .Please Contact customer service and ask them to unlink your account.

I give up. I'll do as the MS Corp want. However, after years of contented Skype usage (paid and internet) now that I sign in thru Hotmail how do I make a call? The new version opens up on 'Your Account' but it's more of an info page with no contacts or call button. Welcome to the brave new world. I am beginning to have sympathy with all those people who whinge about MS domination now.......
