Oil Fill Up
9 Answers
Can anybody tell me how to gauge my oil - I do know there is plenty (I hope) in the tank. There is a little glass/plastic long gauge outside the big tank but it seems full of condensation and you can no longer see where you are at.
Somebody told me about one of these plug in things but is there any thing else I could use. Another neighbour put a long stick in - for the want of a word can you buy a "dip stick" from a plumbers place. Thanks for any answers

Insert clean broom handle or clean flat stick. Mark stick at level where it enters tank. Keep doing this until oil visible on handle/stick re marking insertion level each time.
Hold stick on outside of tank with final level mark level with top of tank. You will see by oil stain on stick how low from bottom of tank oil is.
By simple maths you should get idea of how many gallons there are left.
