Gary Baldy's link will only work if G Squires was a combattant, and I dont think there were any POWs in Auschwitz - see my other link for the reason why, basically because POWs were protected by the Geneva Convention from tmt such as what people got in A.
There were indeed British POW's in Auschwitz and they were forced to work in a large chemical plant, sharing their Red Cross food parcels with the concentration camp workers.

My links don't always work so search Auschwitz British POW camp.
Hi Carolina, you can find out if the gentleman concerned is dead quite simply. If you go to http://www.ancestry.co.uk and do a search for the person's name, you will find that you will be able to identify anyone who has died up to the year 2000.Simply click on the civil registration tab after you search to display the results. You'll need to have in mind a vague idea of year of birth so as to whittle out any red herrings with the same name.It should give the age of death on the record online.
Assuming you can't find that he has died, and presume him to still be living, you can then go to http://www.b4usearch.com and search under their "people" catagory.
It may be fairly longwinded as you have to give an area to search, but this can be as big as a county ie Lincolnshire or whatever, so it shouldn't take forever. This search covers anyone in directory enquiries or on the electoral roll so the majority of the British people and will provide full address's and phone numbers.
Hope this has been helpful. If you need any clarification I'll be happy to expand.
Good luck.
