I made a very hot curry last night which my OH loves, but I dont like it too hot and always suffer with a burning tongue afterwards. I remember reading somewhere that a bit of sugar on the tongue soothes it but dismissed the idea but I tried it last night and it did work, honestly

You could try eating it with a large glass of lassie to sip from.

It does work and putting some sugar into a hot curry makes it feel a little bit milder.

Yoghurt is best though.
Why not cook a medium curry that suits you then add a vindaloo paste for the other half. Then you both have the curry you want.
The thought of having curried ox tongue certainly appeals as well

Liquidised dog?????

You would be better off with a glass of milk or some yoghurt (lassi)
:-p
The best antidote to a mouthful of over-hot curry is a piece of banana. When I lived in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) we laid segments of banana around the edge of the plate, ready for use, with our curry.
