Owd - R.i.p.
179 Answers
I have just received a message from Mrs. Owd that Owd passed away peacefully and, as Mrs Owd, described it, sleepily, this afternoon in his hospice, his family all around him.
Mrs Owd asked me to convey her deep thanks to all ABers to helped him battle with this awful disease but he has now finished with the daily battles that had beset him.
I am sorry to pass you this news and I am sure that you will join him in wishing him peace for his transfer on to the future, and that you will remember him in your thoughts and prayers, as well as Mrs Owd.
We didn't know him that well but a man of great humour and charm came across, a man with his artistic side too, a man with a sardonic, dry remark, but overall a man who loved Mrs Owd and his family before anything.
Rest in Peace, Eric.

Yes it's very sad when we lose a member of AB - I have explained to my hubby (who doesn't come on this site) that we are like one big happy family, following each other's lives, sharing problems about illnesses - minor or major, problems with family and relationship, weather chat, giving advice about places to visit, help with computer problems and uplifting ABers who feel a bit down. It's great to be part of this big family, anyone else feel the same?
Today we are all feeling sad about Eric (Owd) even though we don't actually know him or even knew what he looked like - he was one of us, a brave soul who fought his illness with dignity and carried on posting right to the end. As NoM says we should remember how fortunate we are, count our blessings and keep smiling ....... Owd we remember you with smiles and love, rest in God's peace x

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. I didn't pick it up until now when I searched to see if there was an update.
I am so glad that Owd's last moments in this life were peaceful and in the company of loved ones. He was an example to us all of how to live and cope with adversity. May he rest in peace and his family find comfort in their memories,

I've only just seen this post, what sad news :(
I never really spoke to Owd but I would see his posts and the horrendous battle he was dealing with.
I really admired how strong Owd was, bless his heart. Thoughts are with his family and he was such a popular member on here, a man who will be missed by many.
