What A Rip Off

Saw a cruise advertised for next month round British Isles. It was reduced by almost half to £399. I thought it would be ok for me as it's the same time as OH is going on his two week MG rally to France. I phoned to ask how much the single supplement would be, I was gobsmacked, £849. I don't know how they work these things out as this is even more than if two of us went. Needless to say I told them what to do with their cruise.

From their business perspective it isn't all that surprising. They could get the full going rate for the cabin plus two people's bill for extras. As it is they are getting a single person, consequently they want to make up the shortfall.

When I go away on my own I never look at packages, I seek out hotels and flights to destinations I want to visit and have never endured a SPS.

Ecclescake I don't fly any more, the hassle at the airport drove me nuts all the waiting and queuing. But I believe I could pull the disability card and get speedy service. Whether I will waits to be seen.

Isn't there another MG widow who would like to go with you?

I don't know any of them as it is an online club. They are scattered throughout the UK. Plus I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing with someone I don't know. I'm really very shy.

All my friends are in couples so it would be unfair to put them in that position.
I will keep my eyes open for something else. I am not desperate to go away then just saw the cruise and thought maybe. I've already got three holidays booked so far this year so don't really need another!

Boxtop he is away for two weeks the cruise was for one week, it was an impulse thing really.
