Annoying

Does anyone else get this happening when reading posts on Answerbank?. Suddenly certain words in a post appear in red and are double underlined, if you click on them an advert pops up, relative to the underlined word.
This only seems to happen on Answerbank.
Another thing I get is quite frequently a page appears, asking simple questions about your Answerbank usage, then offering to enter you into a competition.

Regarding the double underlined thing, I think you have accidentally downloaded something.
I asked the same question when it was happening to me a while ago. Back came the answer that I'd downloaded something I didn't want.
Sorry, can't remember how I got rid of it. Just tried to see if my question gave me instructions on how to get rid, but it didn't.

Hi Denis567.
If you'd actually like a solution to your problem after all of the random stuff above, download and install the free version of Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware:
http:// www.mal warebyt es.org/ product s/malwa rebytes _free/
(NB: When installing it, ensure that you de-select the ticked box offering you a trial of the 'PRO' version).
Run a scan with that program and get rid of anything suspicious which appears. That should fix the problem but, if not, reboot your computer into Safe Mode (by pressing F8 during the boot-up process) and run the scan again.
Then remember to post questions about computers in 'Technology', rather than in Chatterbank, so that they get seen quicker by people who might actually be able to answer them!

In the end, it seemed to be down to a nasty called playtopus that came bundled with something I was sent and downloaded.
Absolutely go with buenchico on that link to malwarebytes, but I also had to do both of the things suggested on another site to finally get rid - I think. Took about two hours.
