Instead of hiding I would hunt down and confront

I start having a reasonable, controlled debate and then it kind of descends - last week I told my boss I was bored of the conversation, told him to go f@@@ himself and put the phone down on him. Fortunetly he knows me well enough not to take it against me. I'm sure if I worked on it I could become less defensive and argumentative, but my straight talking goes down well with most people at work. Doesn['t go down so well at home, though!
