We fought for a bit of gristle during the war. Wasn't a question of loving or hating, was about survival in a barely heated school during the bitter winters of the 40's.

I loved the bright green cabbage, couldn't get enough of it.
Hated Tapioca, Semolina and Sago.
Can't remember how much they were.

Just remembered from school dinner hates. Pink leathery bouncy stuff called Blancmange?
Took me many years to realise how bad they made it. Finally got around to liking it, but now when I like it have difficulty in finding a supermarket that sells it.
