Problem With Flashlight On My Phone

i have a zte grand x

and i have installed numerous different flashlight apps on my phone, but none of them will light up the led/camera flash, only the screen.

one said the hardware didnt support it, another said it could not connect to the camera and to turn off all apps and widgets that may be using it.

to my knowledge there are none though.

this the second of these phones i have had - the other was sent back for repair and they replaced it - so this is a brand new one - and it is the latest model so the software can surely handle it

i am almost sure that the previous one could light up no problems

i have tested the flash in the camera function and it does light up then so its not a fault with the bulb etc.

any ideas how i can make this work.

cheers fender ... bit bizarre that they'd disable that function

but i am going to root it, just hadn't got round to it yet.
