The song Robert De Niro's waiting is apparently about a rape. Was the victim anyone comnnected with the band? And why we they thinking of Robert?

how do you figure that?

Hopes dashed to the floor
Like shattered teenage dreams
Boys living next door
Are never what they seem

A walk in the park can become a bad dream
People are staring and following me
This is my only escape from it all
Watching a film or a face on the wall

I don't need a boy
I've got a man of steel
Don't come any closer
I don't wanna feel

Your breathing, your touching, but nothing's for free
I never want this to happen to me
Don't try to change me you're wasting your time
Now I've got something much better in mind

A walk in the park can become a bad dream
People are staring and following me
This is my only escape from it all
Watching a film or a face on the wall

Do a Google search from bananarama + "robert de niro" + rape and see how many sites mention it

Try searching Bananarama+IRA and see what you get too....

It does seem possible:

banarama are really deep. lol two IRA songs aswell, rough justice and king of the jungle......... I quote

The more serious "Rough Justice" details the tragic situation in Northern Ireland, including domestic violence, con-men, but mostly the IRA bombings: "Innocent people walking by/no time to smile before they die/don't call that justice/children are starving on the street/another one disappearing every week/don't call that justice." Also, "I remember the pain and humiliation/I'll show them rough justice/the way that they did."

"King Of The Jungle" seems to be an IRA gunman song, someone who pushes guns by day, stalks at night, and has "gotta make another martyr

blimey lionelhutz.

good effort littleoldme, but i'm not convinced -you could probably do that with a lot of songs
