With HRH Prince Charles - now I'm not a particular fan of the Royal Family -take or leave really -but thought Prince Charles came over as a very very nice man, with a wicked sense of humour, genuinely concerned about his country and proactive in doing something about it-why does the press give him such a hard time? - I for one think he will make a good king when the time comes .

I'm not sure about how good a king he would be, but I think he did come across really well- he was genuinely interested in meeting people and discussing things and had a great sense of humour. I thought Julia Bradbury looked smitten by him
Yes, he did come across as being a caring, funny man and he has a lot of positive things going for him. However, in the past he has spouted a lot of garbage on a wide variety of subjects.
Will he make a good king? I am undecided, and time will tell.

yes factor -she was well-smitten I think lol! I've met Princess Anne on numerous occasions due to horsie things and she's a hoot -feel very sorry for her that she was born Royal and has to behave lol!
I am an anti-royalist, but be fair, he did come over very well, and I ended up quite liking him (you can see how reluctantly I am saying this). That business of kowtowing and calling him 'sir' at every opportunity does not sit well with me though. At least he knows what he is talking about which is more than some others do. Wonder if he will ever become king? A second Farmer George?
Saw the prog. thought he came out of it well, came over as a nice guy, first time in 61 yrs I've thought that!
Im not a fan of Charles either but he was very good. Friendly and down to earth. I commented to my OH that it must have been an honour for the ordinary folk and presenters on the show to be able to be in this close contact with him and doing these things with our future King. When hes King I dont suppose he will be getting his hands dirty then with the ordinary folk ( or maybe he will )

I agree with you starone about the cow-towing -but the presenters were probably told to address him like that -I bet he would not have been bothered one jot if they hadn't.
I don't remember seeing any cows being towed on the programme???
Question Author
you missed it mrs O -it was really educational
(perhaps you could provide the correct spelling as that one nearly blew up my spell check -not a word I use very much). ;-)
I have no idea. Maybe one of the spelling police will be along shortly to put us right?
yes, I too was impressed by
sorry folks I pushed the wrong button.
Yes, I too was impressed by Prince Charles, he even referred to Chamilla as "the wife".
allo allo allo - Sergeant Pedantic 'ere

My Chambers suggests kowtow as the correct form - but I personally prefer "arse-licking"...
NOT the spilling Police, however it is 'kowtow'
It's kowtow, thought it was but checked dictionary to make sure.
