What Is Guinas

I have a tin of "Guinas al Ajillo Picante", bought in Barcelona. Would like to know what they are

Can't find 'guinas' in my spanish dictionary but the nearest it could be is 'guindillas' which are chilli peppers.
Guindas are cherries, but hopefully would not be in a spicy garlic sauce!

Tim do you usually by random bits of foreign food which you have no idea what it's contents are? This can be tricky and very dangerous as there could be all sorts of horrors lurking in there, high salt content, saturated transfats or possibly a food you don't particularly like or maybe the innards and pieces of animal you'd rather not eat, ie heart, lungs, eyes, privates or even possibly banned foodstuffs, chemicals etc..

Always purchase food in foreign lands with labels so you can research it's healthiness as well as ingredients.

Ronnie, please stop being so sanctimonious, it's getting a little tiresome. Tim didn't say that he bought them himself, they may have been a gift. Or he may not have fully understood the label as it was (I assume) in Spanish. I'm sure Tim will work his magic and turn them into a delicious meal!

PS Tim -when you have opened the tin and discovered the contents, please report back if they are tasty as I may look for some on a supermarket shelf next week when on my hols in the Canaries.:)

I thought that eels is 'anguilas' in Spanish but either way I won't be eating them.
