go to a charity shop, get a straw hat with flowers on, a white wig and an out-of-date dress, and go as Miss Marple. Don't forget the knitting.

The murder mystery packs usually include invitations for each of the characters and it usually tells you what you should be wearing?

Well in that case you might want to find a flowery dress that's really meant for day wear. I have no idea what that really counts as, but presumably a quick google shop might help e.g. "floral day wear dress".

Go as Les Patterson, with a card hanging from your lapel that says "Press". Don't forget your reporter's notebook and stubby pencil.
