Kindle Fire...

If you've been debating buying one.... Carphone Warehouse are selling them at the moment for £89, instore only, not online.
That's a £40 saving on the Amazon price of £129.....
I just bought one.

My eldest daughter has the Fire HD.... this is for my books, upgrade from normal Kindle, and so youngest daughter can play on it!!

I've here if the battery becomes faulty you have to buy a new Kindle as you can't get batteries for them. Is this true ? Thanks

you need to be aware that the one they are selling in carphone warehouse at that price will only be an 8GB, the amazon one is a 16gb

actually they may both be 8gb, you'd need 16gb if you want to watch movies/videos

There is no battery..unit charges directly through mains or usb

I always fall to sleep with a book in my hand (honest) and if one of those things (kindles) fell I'mm sure it would hurt....That's what I meant

I don't really use mine as a reader more like a tablet...on it now...have 32gb can stream films through lovefilm stores music and photos can download all manner of apps.

The Fire is 8gb. The Fire HD comes as 16 or 32gb. I have friends with the Fire at 8gb and you can watch movies on it.
