His father was a glovemaker so it may have been that.

Shakespeare may have taught at school during this period, but it seems more probable that shortly after 1585 he went to London to begin his apprenticeship as an actor.

I have found three possible apprentiships.
Butcher, Glove maker and now actor. I am going around in circles. I have posted this question in Arts and LIt. I just cannot confirm any of them at present.
