I used to work at a post office, selling lottery tickets. It never failed to amaze me at the number of people that said they were going in it but they didnt want to win! I felt like saying well why the heck are you going in it for then?

He may keep playing because he gets some slight excitement out of it, the same as people who play one-armed bandits do. The wonder is that he let himself be known and didn't insist on anonymity, but that's true of any big winner.
