Sore gums

I am 28 years old and have *never* had any work done to my teeth, I go for regular check ups and a scrape and polish but there has never been any need for braces/fillings/removals etc. Just recently I have been getting bleeding gums and also the feel that the right hand ride of my gums are swollen. Granted, it started around about the time I changed my toothbrush but I changed to a softer bristle when that one was making my gums bleed. Throughout today, one part of my gums has started bleeding on and off for no apparent reason. They are not sore, but I am *aware* of them, if you know what I mean? I will make an appointment to see my dentist but I have to wait for a couple of weeks until I get paid. Anyone ever had a similar situation? What was it? I'm paranoid I've got gum disease! LOL

Hey Dak - try Corsodyl. Its a mouthwash, tastes foul, takes away your sense of taste but does get rid of bleeding gums, ulcers etc.

On the mouthwash, irisred is right, corsodyl is the one generally reccomended by dentist, also, change to an electric toothbrush, a good one, these were both advised by my dentist, I had the same problem only a month ago, no more.

I occasionally get bleeding gums and my dentist always tells me that flossing is the best thing. I don't know whether this is good advice, because I floss lots, but I pass it on anyway. Corsodyl helps too.
