"Liquid soap" (handwashes etc.) isn't soap - it's detergent. Although not to everyone's liking, it can be better if you have hard water because it doesn't "scum" like soap does.
Never buy soap. Antibacterial handwash for kitchen and bathroom sinks (and some nicer smelling stuff - Wilkos do some gorgeous smelling handwashes) and shower gel in the shower, usually Carex or Sanex and I have some Original Source fruity showergels (as well as rather than instead of) and one of those foamburst ones for leg shaving purposes.
My main thing is clean/sanitise then make things smell nice.
My parents have soap in the shower, I usually take shower gel and a sponge back with me if staying.
Showergel in the shower, liquid soap for the kitchen sink (Wrights Coal Tar) but for the rest of the sinks and bath you can't beat bar soap and for our family it has to be Wrights Coal Tar. Just can't get enough of that clean smell.
Dove bar for my face, Radox or Carex liquid for my hands, and shower gel for body. I use a different brand depending on if they're on some kind of special offer.
Bar soap always goes mushy and slips out of your hands during use, hate it, stems from childhood and all the pubes that got wrapped up in the bars of soap over time...yuk. Liquid soap and shower gel.
