I am on tracker mortgage of 3.24% , and becomes SVR at 3.99% next year (@20% more if my maths is correct!)
Tracker only allows 10% overpayment , whereas SVR has no restrictions -therefore is it worth 10+% overpayment on SVR given the higher rate ? or best to go to to lower rate of tracker for overpay ?

If you have the money to overpay start overpaying as much as you can now up to the 10% limit, so as to make savings as quickly as possible, since interest accrues based on the (reduced) outstanding capital.

At the end of the period you may have the chance to move to another offer tracker type mortgage or may have to move to the SVR. As soon as you are paying the SVR overpay as much as you can as quickly a s possible

Or do you already know that you'll have a choice of lower rate tracker with 10% overpayment limit or higher rate SVR with no overpayment limit. The maths depends on how much you'll be able to afford to overpay

Thx - i have made my 10% overpayment - and yes i already know that i have a choice of lower rate tracker with 10% overpayment limit or higher rate SVR with no overpayment limit.
Trackers i am on are 2 year @10% pa - i guess about 10k max in total -the appeal here is that more of the payment is paying off capital unlike the svr
