I was trying to follow your advice to another poster about downloading Malware. There are 3 steps.

1 Open Installer
2 Click run or yes
3 Follow Install instructions

I don't know how to open installer! Can you please help me? Thank you.

Also earlier I made another post about a plug-in message that's all over my pages. I tried to follow those instructins too but to no avail. http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Technology/Question1226749.html
What can I do? Thanks again.

Re the problem in your other post:
Close your browser.
Go to 'Add or Remove Programs' (or 'Programs and Features', depending upon your version of Windows).
Find and remove 'Adobe Flash Player Plug-in'
Restart your computer.
Open your browser.
Go here to download and install Flash Player again:
http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/
(Before downloading click to remove the tick where you're offered McAfee Security Scan Plus).
Ensure that you read any on-screen instructions. (I seem to recall that Flash Player installs itself automatically in some browsers but that you have to actually run the installation program with others; it will tell you what you need to do on your screen).

With regard to your current post:
After downloading the file, simply double-click on it to get everything started.

I'm so sorry Chris. I can't find where it says add or remove programs. I looked in programs and I can only see Adobe Reader. I'm really dense at computers I'm afraid.
These instructions are for Windows XP. (If you're using a different version of Windows, see if you can still follow them. If not, tell me which version of Windows you've got):

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel

Double-click on 'Add or Remove Programs' . [If you're using a later version of Windows you might need to go through 'Programs & Features']

Click on 'Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin' (You might see a number other than '11'; it doesn't matter).

Click 'Remove'.

Close the window.

Restart your computer

Download and install Flash Player again, as above.

I can follow this Chris thank you so much. I have got as far as clicking on Remove, but when I do that ANOTHER window came up with " this program will remove Adobe Flash Player from your computer" then it has 2 buttons - quit and uninstall. Shall I click uninstall?
Uninstall.

Question Author
Now it says the installer will automatically continue when these conflicting applications are closed: Mozilla Firefox

QUIT
Question Author
Oh i get it. Ok I closed it and shut down and restarted, just waiting for t to crank up.
Now I know that you're using Firefox, I can tell you that once the download has completed you'll probably see the 'Downloads' box appear. (If it doesn't, click Tools > Downloads). Double-click on the top item in the list to run the installation program.

Ok it's on again and there's " an update to adobe flash payer is available" box. Shall I install?
Yes.

So that bit's done. Phew. And the little plug symbol appears to have gone. Please will you be patient a little longer and help me with the malware bit.
My patience is almost inexhaustible but, alas, my time isn't. Please feel free to post again (and I'll certainly do my best to help you) but you might have to wait for an answer as I could be elsewhere for a while.

Aw sorry chris. I was trying to hog you all to myself. I'll have another go and if I get stuck I'll try and catch you tomorrow. Thank you SO much for helping me.
